An espresso machine is an investment. Just like cars benefit from regular tune ups and multi-point inspections, so does your espresso machine. Regular maintenance at home is the first critical step to optimum performance but an overhaul from time to time, carried out by our factory trained technicians can ensure you will avoid costly repair bills. A front end investment will increase the life expectancy of your machine and allow the machine to brew the best espresso possible.

There are three things to consider: 1. prepping the machine. 2. packaging the machine, and 3. choosing the right shipping carrier.
Follow these easy steps and your machine will be safe from damage during transport.
Prepping the Machine
- Empty all containers, both internal and external drip trays.
- “Bleed” the machine.* This is very important during winter months when the machine can freeze. You can bleed the machine by turning on the steam valve, and in the meantime, removing and emptying the water tank. Do this until no more steam exits.
- Dry off the machine.
- Vacuum out beans from the bean hopper.
- Include all accessories (water tanks, drip trays, etc.) and cords so the technicians can test the machine using your original components.
*This may not be possible if the machine is malfunctioning.
Packaging the Machine
- You will need two boxes: one to hold the machine and a second larger box in which the boxed machine can be placed.
- Choose a sturdy box. A double walled corrugated cardboard box is best.
- Wrap the machine with bubble wrap.
- Secure the bubble wrap with tape. Place it in the box.
- Get a second box. In that box, put some shipping peanuts or bubble wrap on the bottom.
- Place the box containing the machine into the second box.
- Fill the box with shipping peanuts so all sides and the top are covered.
- Tape the box shut.
- Place the shipping label on top.
Choosing a Carrier
- US Post is not recommended for larger parcels.
- We recommend shipping using FedEx or UPS choose Regular Ground Shipping option
- Be sure to purchase insurance in case of damage or loss. Thiis very important in case of damage. Your claim may be denied if the carrier believes your packing method was not suitable.
